Through out the year, I review hundreds of business books and I make recommendations on what I consider to be though provoking books in the areas of sales, marketing, management and leadership. I think it is important to be constantly reading and picking up new ideas so your business and professional career don’t become stale. For some people who are experts in their field, the books may not yield anything new, but remind them of things they have forgotten that could reinvigorate their business or the company they are working for. Here is my list:

"Creating and Dominating New Markets" by Peter Meyer, published by AMACOM-This book provides insights into how Nike, FedEx, Microsoft and others look for new markets and provides examples of how they attack and dominate those markets before the competition wakes up. You can apply these lessons to your business regardless if your market is only a county or town.

"The E-Commerce Question and Answer Book" by Anita Rosen, AMACOM-All though the stock price of Internet investing power house is Internet Capital is less than a donut a Wawa, the Internet is more used and accepted by consumers and businesses alike than when Internet Capital was worth more than General Motors. This book does a great job of providing insights into how to build a successful e-commerce business.

"Making Horses Drink" by Alex Hiam, Entrepreneur Press-I can never read enough leadership books. The author, who has trained leaders at AT&T, Ford, GM and even the FBI, has written an insightful book that takes a plane ride from Philadelphia to Miami to read. He talks about how to be both a leader, motivator and a good listener.
